Hello from Nik & Sarah
We are delighted to announce that we are the new owners of Mellow Vélos Limoux.
Since moving to France it has been our goal to run a cycling business and this makes that dream come true.
We have big plans to build on the success of Phil & Lesley, and to take the business in new and exciting directions.
For now we will be concentrating on upgrading and expanding the fleet offering, to ensure that we have quality bikes to offer, whether you are looking for days out with the family, touring around the area to experience the wonderful wines and foods of the region, or riding a road bike in the epic Pyrenees.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Phil & Lesley for all their help over the last few weeks, and to wish them all the best for their future plans. Please have a read of the message from them in the “What’s Happening” section below.
Based just outside of Limoux, near the Eastern end of the Pyrenees, we are lucky to be surrounded by some of the finest and most beautiful cycling territory in Europe.
To the West are the rolling hills, plains and vineyards of the Razés. Sometimes referred to as “Little Tuscany”, the area produces some delicious wines, including Malepère, Chardonnay and the famous Blanquette de Limoux.
To the north is the world famous UNESCO world heritage medieval cité of Carcassonne, and the Canal du Midi, which offers great riding for families and touring cyclists alike. Beyond are the Montagne Noire and the Minervois. An area of stunning river gorges, medieval towns and villages, and wooded mountains. The highest point is the 1211m Pic de Nore. The views from the summit are simply stunning.
To the East, between the river Aude and the Mediterranean, are the wooded valleys, mountain streams, and hills of the Corbières massif, another great wine producing region. The highest point is the Pic de Bugerach at 1,230m.
Finally, to the South, are the Pyrenees themselves. The annual backdrop to some of the most famous duels in the history of the Tour de France, we have famous cols like the Plateau de Beile, Ax 3 Domaines, the Col de Prat d’Albis, and the 2001m Port de Pailhères within easy reach.
For many cyclists, this is the ultimate playground to ride a bike, but the real joy of this area, is the sheer variety. No two days are the same.
So whether it’s a family day out, cycle touring, rides to sample wine and eat great food, or serious road cycling on stunning cols, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed, and because we know our area so well, we’ll give you detailed routes on GPS or maps, and advice to make sure that you experience the very best that the Aude countryside has to offer.
We offer simple no-hassle advance booking with delivery and collection. If you would like a day ride, please contact us first so that we can have your bikes ready when you arrive. There is plenty of parking next to our workshop.

A Message from Phil & Lesley
After 5 very enjoyable years of renting bikes in the Aude, we have decided it’s time to hang up our cleats and explore and enjoy the region a bit more.
We have sold the business to a lovely couple, Nik and Sarah, who are based in Pauligne, a village very close to ours.
Nik and Sarah both have a passion for cycling and they plan to expand both the fleet and the business offering over the next couple of years. We would like to wish them the very best of luck.
We would like to thank you for your custom and hope to see you all back in the region in the near future. Stay safe in these very strange times.
All the best.
Phil and Lesley
