Mellow Vélos gains and Acuil Vélo award

At Mellow Vélos we specialise the bike hire on the Canal du Midi and surrounds and today we were presented with an Accueil Vélo plaque which is a French Quality Mark for Cycle Tourism.  It means that you can be guaranteed that when you hire a bike from Melow Velos you can be sure our bikes are safe clean and well maintained.

This quality mark is similar to that you’ll find in certain other countries (e.g. Cyclists Welcome in UK, Bett & Bike in Germany or Welcome Cyclists around Quebec)

  • Restaurants
  • Tourist Offices
  • Bike rental and repair companies 
  • Places to visit

This mark refers to service providers located less than 5 km from a cycle route.

Accueil Vélo, it’s the guarantee for the cyclist of :

Testing our Hire Bikes

So following on from all your lovely comments about Geoff I thought I would show the dedication that we at Mellow Vélos have to the quality of our product. We service our bikes after every rental but after a specified number of rentals or kilometres we test our bikes by riding them. This includes our children’s bikes. For some reason as I allocate who services what bikes I always seem to have to test the electrics and Geoff gets the rest. Giant Liv – Ladies Road Bike

We are really pleased to announce that we have taken delivery of our new Giant Liv Langma Ladies Road Bikes.  As they are designed specifically for woman we decided we needed to get an experience world class cyclist to test them for us.
Gillian Vanessa Annesley is a well-known cyclist riding locally with  Vélo Club Lezignan  and competing in several UCI Grand Fondo World Championships. She combines her love of cycling and cooking by offering cycling h0lidays in her stunning Gite – Cycle d’Oc   (cycle-d-oc-fr.com/). Offering a series of guided and non-guided rides she shares with you her training rides and introduces you to the quiet backroads of this Tour de France area.
Vince and Sandra owners of Mellow Vélos asked me to test-ride one of their new Liv Ladies road bikes that they have recently ordered in for the new season 2019. I’m a very keen road cyclist and compete frequently and so was thrilled to have the opportunity to road -test a new lady’s bike.
I am pleased to say I was very impressed with it. A lovely, light and responsive ride, the frame being in high quality aluminium, fitted with the great Shimano 105 group-set . What I liked the most was the gear ratios of 34/50 on the front and a 11/34 11-speed cassette at the back, which allows cyclists ,with a big range of cycling abilities, to tackle the varied local terrain, without too much blood, sweat and tears. Mellow Vélos maintains their precious rental bikes extremely well and they supply each bike with puncture kit, pump, water bottle and bike computer and the pedals of your choice. Fantastic deal!

Paralympic Gold Medal winner visits Mellow Vélos

Today was a very exciting day at Mellow Vélos. Jon-Allan Butterworth OBE a 2016 Paralympic Gold Medal winner in C1-5 750m Team Sprint and the winner of 3 Silver medals in the London games came to pick up a road bike for a friend. Vince was blown away to be standing talking to a Gold Medal Olympic Cyclist about training, the Olympic experience and medal ceremonies. Such a nice guy.
